Mary A. Ogorzalek, of Rexville

REXVILLE-Mary A. Ogorzalek, 65, of 1840 Loomis Road, Rexville (formerly of Canisteo), died Monday (March 4, 2019) at Highland Hospital following a brief illness.

Born in Middletown, CT on May 25, 1953, she was the daughter of Joseph and Stacia (Jagoda) Ogorzalek.

Mary grew up in Rockfall, CT and attended Middletown High School. She lived in Rockfall until moving to the Canisteo/Rexville area about 20 years ago to be closer to her brother and family. She worked as a receptionist at Comfort Inn hotels in both Connecticut and New York. Most recently, she was employed as a cashier at Shurfine (the former
Big M) in Canisteo. Mary truly enjoyed working at Shurfine where her coworkers and customers became her dear friends.

In addition to her parents, Mary was predeceased by one brother, Thomas Ogorzalek.

Surviving are her brother, Larry (Lorraine) Ogorzalek of Rexville; nephews, Chris (Kim) Ogorzalek of Arkport, Shane (Monica) Ogorzalek of Howard, Jason (Rachael) Ogorzalek of Arkport; and her beloved great-nephews and great-nieces, Krystian, Alaina, and Reaghan Ogorzalek and Vincent and Joseph Capluzzi Mary is also survived by her dear friend, Pat (Martin) Gaffney & family of Portland, CT; and many family members in Connecticut.

Mary enjoyed scrapbooking and loved the time spent with Pat working on scrapbooks, crafting, and making cards. Their special lifelong friendship was a treasure to Mary.

At Mary’s request, there will be no calling hours. Private services will be held at the convenience of the family with burial in Calvary Cemetery in Middletown, CT.
