The Naples Central School District staff member who was placed on leave for controversial Facebook posts referencing the death of activist Charlie Kirk a week ago, has resigned. Last Saturday, protesters gathered outside Town Hall near Naples High School, playing Kirk’s speeches and calling for the teacher’s removal. Superintendent Kevin Swartz released a letter to the school community, confirming the resignation and said the matter is resolved. In the letter, he praised students and staff for their resilience, noting a strong start to the school year and smooth adjustment to new rules banning internet-enabled devices. The Naples Board of Education meets again, today, September 24th.
