NYSUT Works To Become Part Of Colleen Campbell’s Lawsuit

September 1 2014

August 31, 2014

ALBANY, NY – State Teachers Union NYSUT has filed a motion to intervene into the Colleen Campbell lawsuit against New York State Teachers getting tenure.  (A motion to intervene means that NYSUT is trying to become a party to the lawsuit.)

NYSUT says their teachers and union have a real interest in the outcome of the case, because dismantling tenure would “jeopardize their teaching as well as basic terms and conditions of employment.”

NYSUT also says tenure in New York State is earned, and is not automatic.
