Dear Family & Friends,

By now, many of you may have heard the recent news of Chris Cartella, a member of our family, our friend, and a highly valued and respected member of the City of Hornell Fire Department, on August 21, was stricken with a basil ganglia hemorrhagic stroke. As a result of the stroke, Chris has lost the use of his right limbs and is unable to work.
For years, as a paramedic and firemen, Chris has proudly served and dedicated a tremendous amount of time and energy to our community. His countless hours and commitment to helping and caring for others in need is his passion, and he graciously and unselfishly devoted his time doing so.
For all, fortunately, Chris’s prognosis is good; however, he has a long and very difficult road ahead of him as he works through extensive physical and occupational rehabilitation in an effort to recover. As you can imagine, any long-term medical issue is extremely costly and can have a negative financial impact on a family.
In an effort to alleviate the additional burden of some of the exponential costs for Chris’s extended medical care, to allow Chris, his wife Meghan, and their four children to focus on his recovery, and to answer the requests from many who have reached out to determine what one can do to help, please consider donating a gift basket, gift certificate, or any donation to include in the raffle or auction that will take place at the fundraiser for Chris. If interested, we request you contact, via text or call, any of the following: Colleen Argentieri, 607-661-8343; Shannon Buckley, 607-382-0816; Sue Butler, 607-382-6235; Sharon Smith, 607-382-3635; or Danielle White, 585-313-8227, and we will be happy to pick up the item by Wednesday, October 16. Those wishing to make a monetary donation, checks may be made payable to District 6, c/o Sue Butler.
Additional information on the fundraiser is following:
Tickets are $15 and may be purchased at the door or ahead of time at the City of Hornell Fire Department. The $15 includes entrance into the event, food, and a DJ. There will be several exciting raffles, auction items, and lottery boards available for winning.
Thank you greatly for your consideration.
