It is with a heavy heart that I report the untimely passing of retired police officer Robert (Bull) L. Margeson. Bob honorably served the citizens of Hornell starting in 1990 and retiring in April 2015. Prior to this Bob worked as a patrolman for the village of AIfred for 6 years. Since retiring from Hornell, Bob has continued his police work at the Canisteo Police Department. In all Bob has dedicated over 37 years of of his life serving and protecting the citizens in Alfred, Canisteo, and Hornell.
In addition to police work, Bob helped coach the Alfred University Saxton’s and Alfred State football teams for 29 years. Bob was an avid reader and has written several books. He will be missed by the Hornell community and our prayers go out to him and his family.
