Today is a little bit different: there is both a special election and a primary today. The special election is open to all voters, and the candidates are Democrat Max Della Pia and Republican Joe Sempolinski.
The primary is a Republican primary between Nick Langworthy and Carl Paladino.
The polls are open until 9:00 tonight.
Other races in New York State today:
Besides the Langworthy/Paladino Primary, there are five other congressional primaries, here is the list of them: New York 3, that’s Long Island (Tom Suozzi’s seat) New york 10, that’s Manhattan (Jerry Nadler’s seat, and because of redistricting, Nadler is facing opposition from Congresswoman Maloney), New York 11, a Staten Island (Nichole Molliotakis’s seat) and New York’s 17, that’s Rockland County (Sean Patrick Maloney’s seat). There are also three state senate races in new York city and in Ithaca too.
