Prattsburgh Man Facing Charges In Monroe County Accident

MONROE COUNTY, NY – There was a three car accident on Tuesday morning at about 8:45am in Irondequoit, on I-590. According to State Police, a disabled van was off the right shoulder being assisted by the State Farm Help Truck, when a vehicle being driven by David Young, 61, of Prattsburgh, left the right lane and struck the Help Truck from behind. The Help Truck then struck the van it was assisting and hit 2 people standing in front of the van.

David Young of Prattsburgh was arrested for DWI, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th Degree, Possession of a Hypodermic Needle, Assault 3rd Degree and numerous traffic infractions. Young was taken to Strong Hospital for his injuries and is currently still admitted.
The Help Truck operator was treated on scene for a head injury. The other 2 people were taken to Strong Hospital for minor injuries.

The investigation is continuing.
