Remote Learning Today For Alfred-Almond’s Grades 7-12

September 29, 2021

From Alfred-Almond Centeral School:

Due to a lack of substitute coverage, we will be unable to support the absences of all teachers that have been placed in quarantine until cleared by the Allegany County Department of Health. Currently, we have at least 13 teachers that would require substitutes and we are not able to provide coverage.
Therefore, the following decision has been made:
In-person instruction will resume for grades UPK – 6 on Wednesday, September 29.
Virtual instruction will be delivered for grades 7-12 on Wednesday, September 29. Students in grades 7-12 should not report to the school building. Students that attend classes at the CTE Wildwood campus will need to remain virtual as well.
Secondary students should follow their normal schedule and look for information on their Google Classrooms. All athletic practices and events have been canceled.
We are also postponing Friday’s Pep Rally, Bonfire, and Dance.
In addition, we are short one bus driver. Therefore, students that ride buses 100 and 109 will be picked up approximately 15-25 minutes early. Again, students that ride buses 100 and 109 will be picked up approximately 15-25 minutes early.
Unless placed in quarantine or isolation all students will return to in-person learning on Thursday, September 30.
Tracie Bliven
Superintendent
