Steuben County Industrial Development Agency Director Jamie Johnson says, Steuben County was the only County in the Southern Tier to receive two Restore New York grants recently – which resulted in the County receiving over half of the Restore New York grant money in this region. That money is going to both Bath and Wayland, in Bath for the Dana Lyons redevelopment, and work on turning that into apartments is scheduled to begin in late November. In Wayland, their Village won a grant to help John Palmer LLC redevelop the Main Street properties that burned down two years ago. It’s a $1.8 million dollar project for three separate buildings there in Wayland. And that’s not including the New York Forward money – the $4.5 million dollars going to Urbana and Hammondsport. As we know, Hornell won New York Forward money back in 2019.
