Steuben County Manager Wheeler: More Resources For Flood Victims

Steuben County encourages residents with damages in need of assistance to utilize the following resources: Call the 211 Helpline by dialing 2-1-1 and provide their address, contact information and type of damages.

Individuals will be connected with the appropriate community service organization that can assess with their needs. In addition to 211, if able, residents should also complete the Damage Self Report Tool hosted by the New York State Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Services at the following link: https://arcg.is/0ybK4H0.

Utilizing both of these resources will allow the County and its partners to more quickly assess the needs, while also documenting damage.Steuben County sincerely thanks residents and businesses for the outpouring of support. Instead of donation of goods, those interested in contributing can make monetary donations to the “Steuben County Flood Relief Fund” to assist non-profit agencies that are helping local flood victims. This fund is administered by the United Way of the Southern Tier and donations can be sent to:

Make checks payable to “UWST Steuben County FRF.”

All donations to United Way of the Southern Tier for the Steuben County Flood Response Fund will be fully invested in flood relief with no monies withheld for administrative costs, according to United Way President and CEO Stephen M. Hughes
