Steuben County Woman Accused Of Stealing A Veteran’s Social Security and Disability $$$

ATLANTA, NY – Yesterday, State Police charged Barbara Savoia of Atlanta, NY for two counts of Grand Larceny in the 3rd Degree, and one count of Falsifying Business Records in the 1st Degree, as a result of a two-month long investigation involving the New York State Police, FBI, Social Security Administration/OIG, VA Police Department in Bath, NYS Department of Veterans Affairs, and Steuben County Adult Protective Services.

Troopers allege that Savoia received over $18,000 total in Social Security benefits and VA benefits for a disabled US Army Veteran who was a former resident at her home, months after the veteran was transferred to the VA Hospital in Bath.

Barbara Savoia was issued an appearance ticket.
