Former Addison Clerk/Treasurer Is Accused Of Pocketing Over A Million Dollars

BATH, NY – Steuben County District Attorney and the New York State Comptrollers Office and New York State Police, are reporting that there are major allegations of an Addison woman today. Ursula G. Stone, 55, Addison, was the longtime clerk/treasurer (and does not work for the village hall any longer) for the Village of Addison. Baker tells us that over an 18 year period, between $1.1 million dollars and $1.2 million dollars was allegedly stolen by Stone. The charges against Ursula Stone include: Grand Larceny in the First Degree, Money Laundering, Government Corruption, and over 170 counts of Falsifying Business Records in the First Degree. Stone appeared today before a county grand jury. Stone pleaded not guilty. Judge Chauncey Watches remanded Stone to jail, $20,000 bail.

Fatal Motorcycle Accident In Addison

From The Sheriff’s Dept: Steuben County Sheriff Jim Allard reports that on August 1, 2023, deputies and investigators of the Steuben County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a motorcycle crash with a fixed object on Beeman Hollow Road, in the Town of Addison, New York. The operator of the motorcycle was identified as Frank J. Stout, age 56, of Elmira, New York. It appears that the motorcycle left the roadway and collided with a utility pole. Mr. Stout was pronounced dead at the scene by the Steuben County Coroner.
The Steuben County Sheriff’s Office Collision Reconstruction Team processed the scene and is continuing the investigation.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Mr. Stout’s family as a result of this tragedy.

Addison Man Dies After Motorcycle Accident In Tioga County, Pennsylvania

Pennsylvania State Police report that 74 year old Alan Freeman of Addison, died as a result of injuries, after he was in a crash in Tioga County Pennsylvania.  That accident happened in the 4:00 hour on Sunday afternoon in the town of Delmar. 

PA Troopers say that Alan Freeman was ejected from his motorcycle in the crash, and later pronounced dead at Soldiers and Sailors Hospital.
