Arkport Central Reappoints Flaitz And Swarts

July 20, 2023

ARKPORT, NY – Arkport Central’s School Board has reappointed Pat Flaitz as board of education president and Jen Swarts as school board vice president.   Arkport Central will be having three town halls in October, which will be about hiring a new principal for grades 7-12.

Arkport Central Superintendent Jesse Harper and the school board will be coming up with different rules for illegal student absences, which is a common problem nationwide since covid.  There will be more discussion on this at the August school board meeting in Arkport.

On the DEI, Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, the first reading of the DEI policy was read last night by the Arkport School Board at their regulary monthly meeting.  Superintendent Jesse Harper says, every district in the state will have to have this policy, but Arkport made sure to include parents and guardians in their policy.
