Langworthy: The Peace Bridge Lines Are Too Long

August 1, 2023

ERIE COUNTY, NY – Wlea caught up with Congressman Nick Langworthy (R-23) yesterday. He says that because so many border patrol agents have been sent down to the southern border, there is a lack of agents working at the Peace Bridge in Buffalo. As a result, Langworthy says that there are Canadians who wait for over an hour to get through the U.S. Customs lines. “We have far too long in delays going on right now,” Langworthy said yesterday. “We’re very short on personel. With our short summer season, I don’t find this acceptable. We’ve got to find a way to get adequete personel levels. There is obviously a labor shortage everywhere and there are less people taking tests to become Border Patrol agents. I’m looking forward to doing a full field visit with our Customs agents while on recess this month and getting their perspective, as to what is going on at the Northern Border,” said Langworthy.
