Flash Flood Warning for...
  South Central Steuben County in central New York...

* Until 830 PM EDT.

* At 527 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing
  heavy rain across the warned area. Between 1.5 and 2.5 inches of
  rain have fallen. The expected rainfall rate is 2 to 3 inches in 1
  hour. Flash flooding is expected to begin shortly.

  HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

  SOURCE...Radar.

  IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban
           areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as
           other poor drainage and low-lying areas.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
  Addison, Woodhull, Jasper, Thurston, Cameron, Cameron Mills and
  Risingville.

Residents along Tuscarora Creek should be on high alert for the
potential of rapid flooding.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Stay away or be swept away. River banks and culverts can become
unstable and unsafe.

CANISTEO, NY – From Canisteo Village Hall: We were notified that an electric car plugged into the Village owned outlets yesterday to charge their vehicle. The Village has addressed the issue. The outlets were put in for casual use so you could sit at the table or bench and have the option to plug in a computer/electronic device so you can work/socialize in the downtown area. These outlets are not intended to provide a major service at no cost. We are aware there will be an increase in electric vehicles and may explore options for charging stations where residents can pay to charge their vehicle. In the meantime we will need to terminate service to the outlets until a plan can be put in place.
