MONROE COUNTY, NY – State Police report the arrest of a 29 year old protester from Rochester, who is accused of throwing a wooden finial at a state trooper, striking that trooper in the head.
According to state police, there were about 75 protesters present at the event, which Rochester media outlets say was being held, in objection to a woman from Guatamala and her five children being taken into custody by Border Patrol agents recently. Troopers along with Border Patrol Agents arrested Philipp Birklbauer, age 29, from Rochester for Reckless Endangerment 2nd Degree, Resisting Arrest, Obstructing Governmental Administration, and Unlawful Assembly.
Birklbauer was arraigned in the Town of Irondequoit Court and remanded to the Monroe County Jail on 5,000 cash – $10,000 bond.
