Woman Found Dead in Livonia Area

LIVINGSTON COUNTY, NY – Livingston County Sheriff Tom Dougherty is reporting that the body of a woman was found dead behind a residence in Hemlock, a hamlet of Livonia. Doughtery says that this death is being considered “suspicious in nature”, and that the identity of the deceased is being withheld until it be confirmed.
Officials also report that Gary Flemke, 61, of Hemlock is accused of tampering with physical evidence and is being held on $250,000 bail in the Livingston County Jail. Officials believe that Flemke may be the husband of the woman who was found dead in Hemlock, but again, the body has not been positively identified at this time.
Sheriff Dougherty also reports that the search for the woman began when someone made a 9-1-1 call to ask officials to check on the welfare of his mother, who he could not locate. The call was made Friday night, by an out of state family member, and this began a search for both the mother and her husband, Gary Flemke. Flemke was later located in Dansville.
