Mayor John Buckley has announced a new partnership with the Hornell YMCA. The YMCA will be operating the City pool this Summer at James St Park.
The Common Council unanimously approved the agreement at last night’s meeting.
Mayor Buckley said “Having the YMCA manage the City pool will be a tremendous benefit to City residents. In addition to open swim, the YMCA will offer programming at the pool throughout the Summer. We’re taking the pool to the next level”.
The City will continue to operate the mechanical aspects of the pool, while the YMCA will be responsible for staffing, scheduling, and programming. Under the agreement, lifeguards will be YMCA employees.
The cost of admission to the pool will remain the same.
