HORNELL, NY – Last week the Hornell Common Council unanimously voted to ban smoking in municipal parks. The ban includes the smoking of tobacco, cannabis, as well as vaping. The ban also includes City sponsored recreational programs at playgrounds during the Summer months.
Mayor John Buckley said “Second hand smoke poses a threat to the health and wellbeing of all park goers including children and adults. Children should be able to use and enjoy City parks in a smoke free environment.”
