Moratorium Will Likely Continue in Village of Alfred

ALFRED, NY – The Alfred Village Board’s moratorium on drilling is coming to an end this March, and Alfred Village Mayor Justin Grigg wants to do a total ban. Howvever, Grigg would settle for a moratorium being extended, as the moratorium will give the village board in alfred time to work on a complete ban.
According to Alfred Village Trustee Virginia Rasmussen, the Alfred Town Board’s moratorium does not prevent drilling in the village.
The Alfred Village Board will have a public hearing on fracking, on March 11th at 7:15pm.
