At the July Alfred Almond Central School Board meeting, numerous area residents and parents spoke out against the Alfred Almond DEI, Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Policy. At last night’s August Alfred Almond Central meeting, the parents who spoke were all in favor of the Alfred Almond Policy.

The majority of those who talked at public comment spoke out strongly against Alfred Almond School Board member Jason Burdick, without naming his name. At last month’s meeting, Burdick read a statement aloud, in opposition to the state’s policy on this issue. Last night, some of those who spoke at public comment suggested that he be removed from the school board. Others said (again without naming him) that Burdick should be turned in to the State, for opposing the D.E.I. Policies at Alfred Almond.
In other school board business, the board approved making retired New York State Trooper Chris Smith, a permanent SSO (School Security Officer).
