Statement From Assemblyman Joe Errigo:
Today Assemblyman Joe Errigo endorsed Judge Chauncey Watches in this year’s election for Steuben County Judge. The seat is up for election this year due to the impending retirement of Judge Peter Bradstreet.
“It is with great pleasure that I endorse Judge Watches for Steuben County Court. I have followed his career along the way and have determined that his life experience as a father, grandfather, in private law practice, and in the District Attorney’s Office, along with his judicial experience, highly qualify him for Steuben County Court,” said Assemblyman Errigo.
Judge Watches has served as a Municipal Judge in Bath for the last 14 years, where he has helped to resolve thousands of challenging cases. In addition to his tenure behind the bench, he has run his own private legal practice for 30 years and previously served as Assistant District Attorney and as Assigned Counsel through the Public Defender’s Office.
“I’m honored to have the support of Assemblyman Joe Errigo and many other leaders from across Steuben County,” said Judge Watches. “If elected to serve as our next County Judge, I will strive to make them proud by ensuring that every person who comes through the courtroom is treated with respect and that integrity in the process is at the forefront in every case.”
