CANISTEO, NY – There will be no more e-cigarette smoking allowed on the Canisteo-Greenwood school grounds, that decision was made at Monday night’s school board meeting. There was no one there at the public comment section of the meeting to voice concerns or complaints about that issue.
School principals at Canisteo-Greenwood say there were some improvements in math and science regents exams at the high school level at Canisteo-Greenwood, scores were both up and down at the middle school level, for the English Langauge Arts testing. School officials also say the school will be increasing instructional time for ELA and Math, for all grade levels.
In other school news, capital project workers found problems in the steel roofing of the high school gym. School officials say it’s going to cost a little extra for that, and that the gym will be operational by mid to late October. Also, the Canisteo-Greenwood Middle School parking lot paving and paint job is complete.
