Steuben County Sheriff Jim Allard reports that on April 25, 2022, deputies of the Steuben County Sheriff’s Office arrested David T. Shepherd, age 46, of Slate Creek Road, Canisteo, New York. It is alleged that Mr. Shepherd entered the secure area of the Steuben County Jail while possessing a quantity of suspected methamphetamine. Mr. Shepherd was charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Seventh Degree and Promoting Prison Contraband in the First Degree, a class D Felony. Mr. Shepherd was arraigned in the Centralized Arraignment Court and released.
The sheriff also reports the arrest of 40 year old Nessadena Ortiz, of Seneca Road, Hornell, whose accused of injuring someone in her household with a weapon during a domestic dispute, in front of a minor. The charger are 2nd degree assault and endangering the welfare of a child.
