Cynthia “Cindy” McGregor, of Canisteo
Cynthia E. “Cindy” McGregor, 61, of 26 ½ Greenwood St., Canisteo, died early Saturday morning (March 8, 2014) at Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre, PA following a long illness.
Born in North Hornell on March 9, 1952, she was the daughter of Robert & Marjorie (Payne) Hadley.
Cindy grew up in Jasper and was a graduate of Jasper High School (class of 1970). She later earned her Practical Nurse’s License through the Hornell BOCES Program. She was employed as an LPN for several years at Bethesda Community Hospital, Noyes Memorial Hospital, Hornell Gardens and Home Health Care.
She was married on April 28, 1973 to Gordon “Gordy” McGregor who survives. Also surviving are 1 son, Seth (Jenny Stephens) McGregor of Hornell; 1 daughter, Kristen (William) Lain of Canisteo; 3 brothers, Dean (Myrna) Hadley of Hornell, Steve Hadley of Rochester and Randy (Liz) Hadley of Jasper; 2 sisters, Debbie (Carlin) Stephens of Jasper and Lori Drake of Canisteo; 4 grandchildren, Shelby Derck, Morgan McGregor, Aaron Lain and Abigail Lain; several nieces & nephews.
At Cindy’s request there will be no calling hours. Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. Funeral arrangements are in care of the Dagon Funeral Home, 38 Church St., Hornell, NY.
Cindy’ family request that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in her name be made to the American Lung Association, 1595 Elmwood Ave., Rochester, NY 14620.
