IDA Amicably Parts Ways with Trikeenan Tileworks

September 19th, 2018

HORNELL, NY – After weeks of behind the scenes negotiations with lawyers, the IDA and Trikeenan struck a deal for their immediate departure.

They reached an agreement to terminate the existing lease on the property at 40 Shawmut Park in Hornell, and be out of the building by late fall.

Trikeenan is not walking away debt free, with the following financial conditions imposed. According to IDA head James Griffin, they will owe $3,000 a week for the next 10 weeks, and then owe another $15,000 a year for the following 5 years.

“We agreed to this settlement with them,” said Griffin, “If they stick to the agreement it will work out well for everyone. They originally owed much more, but we settled on this amount.”

Griffin and the IDA were anxious to resolve this and move forward with the building as rumors have it an established business plans on occupying it as soon as November 23rd.
