Lindley Woman Facing Drug Charges, Etc., After A Long Chase

A 43 year old Town of Lindley woman was arrested by the Chemung County Sheriff’s Office after a chase that went from Pennsylvania into Southport, into Steuben County and then back into Chemung County. Chemung County Officials say 43 year old Jessica Neally was the driver and they report that she is charged with 7th degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, resisting arrest and numerous vehicle and traffic violations. The drug in question is reportedly, Meth. Officials say that Jessica Neally was already wanted in Steuben County on charges of bail jumping and criminal possession of a controlled substance. The Chemung County Sheriff’s Office says Neally was turned over to the Steuben County Sheriff’s Department, and that she’s also facing charges in Pennsylvania.

Troopers Follow Up Statement About Horseheads Situation

New York State Police have put out a statement about why the State Trooper’s bomb squad was in Horseheads Sunday afternoon. The NYSP Bomb Squad and the FBI were there investigating 43 year old Michael Hilliard. Hilliard was said to have had a possible explosive device and dangerous chemicals inside his residence.

He was charged with 1st degree criminal possession of a weapon and was remanded to the Chemung County Jail.

On November 6, 2023, a Veteran Highway Department employee rendered 911 services to Merka Road in the town of Veteran for a found possible explosive. Members of the New York State Police Bomb Disposal Unit and FBI responded and made the explosive safe. Members of the State Police and our federal partners diligently investigated numerous leads over the week by interviewing neighbors and seeking information from companies across the United States, which yielded a possible suspect. On November 11, 2023, Michael P. Hilliard, age 43, was apprehended and charged with Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the First Degree (B Felony). He was arraigned and remanded to the Chemung County Jail.

On November 12, 2023, the New York State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation executed a search warrant at Hilliard’s residence at 207 South Main Street in the village of Horseheads. The NYSP Bomb Disposal Unit, Contaminated Crime Scene Emergency Response Team, and Forensic Identification Unit located several suspicious hazardous materials inside the residence. The immediate surrounding area of the residence has been evacuated for safety concerns until the suspect’s residence is cleared of all hazards to the public. The residents who have been evacuated will be assisted by the Red Cross and the Horseheads Fire Department.

The New York State Police are working in conjunction with the FBI for the disposal of all hazards. East Franklin Street to Broad Street will be closed to the public until further notice. We ask the public to remain clear of the area while the scene is being processed.

Campbell Man Killed, In An Accident In Horseheads

The Chemung County Sheriff’s Department reports that Andrew Davis, 21, of Campbell, was killed in a motorcycle accident in Horseheads on Saturday morning.

Officials with the sheriff’s department there say that Andrew Davis struck a barrier in the roadway on or around I86 in the 8am hour Saturday morning. They say he was ejected from the motorcycle and pronounced dead at the scene.

The Four Suspects Accused In Sunday Assault, Have Been Named

ALFRED, NY – The four suspects who are accused of the violent assault at Alfred State College in the early morning hours of Sunday, have been released. Alfred State College Spokesperson Paul Welker tells us that University Police report the following:

All four of the below individuals were charged with one count of Gang Assault in the 1st degree of the NYS Penal Law.
• Eric R Plante 19 of Elmira, NY
• Jayson E Lewis 20 of Elmira NY
• William J Blye 20 of Elmira NY
• Moses N Scharborough 19 of Elmira NY

The four suspects are scheduled to be in Alfred Village Court, Wednesday night, at 7pm.
