Do you know anyone in Buffalo, maybe someone who you send mail to? Democrat U.S. Senator Kirsten Gillibrand is opposed to closing down the Buffalo Post Office and having the Rochester Post Office handle Buffalo’s mail instead. “I think it’s a mistake,” Gillibrand said this morning during a media zoom call. “It’s going to harm people’s ability to get their mail on time. We sent a letter yesterday, to the PostMaster General, urging him to stop the closing of the Buffalo Postal Processing Center.” Republican Congressman Nick Langworthy agrees with the senator on this. “I recently met with US Post Office officials,” Langworthy said. “I wanted to make his position clear: I am strongly opposed to the proposal to move the Buffalo Mail Processing Facility to Rochester if it means jobs are lost in Western New York.”
